| Poetry By: Lucy Bear Meeks True NatureRolling thunder of buffalo echoes though my mind heart races, beat quickens with every hunters step blood boils as the beast surrenders to the hunt. Silence shatters, brother wolf calls me come, run with us, relish inner freedom heart pumps faster, mind races on. Eyes see mother earth's beauty anew wind blows, warriors gather ,women mourn heart aches to be free. Ghost dancers come, I touch them all Grandfather chants, prays, dances gently guiding my journey. Colors flash through my mind warriors painted, horses running women weaving in the sun. Brother Eagle dives catches fish serenity like water washes over me mind begins to calm. Images remain forever in the mind yearning , longing runs in the blood serenity holds the soul. Great Spirit watch over me I have seen the true nature of my soul. |
