The Children

We burnt the sage, sweetgrass and cedar telling the stories we had learned as children the legends of the animals, rivers and mountains.

We spoke to the children in native tongues teaching them our prayers to Grandfather showing them the love for mother earth.

We told the children all things are connected, a part of the sacred circle of life having a past and a future.

We watched as the children played copying the dances, singing the songs becoming one with Grandfather.

We burnt the sage, sweet grass and cedar praising Grandfather for this day, especially for the children.
